The Park is located just 9 KM west of downtown Victoria and is easily approached from the Trans Canada Highway in all directions. See the various approaches below for directions.

From Vancouver Ferry (arriving at Swartz Bay) 

  • Come south on Hwy. # 17 for 28 KM.
  • Take the McKenzie Road West exit to the Trans Canada Highway.
  • Turn right on TCH going North for 2 KM then take exit # 8 Helmcken Road.
  • Turn left onto Helmcken Road, go 1 KM to Old Island Highway.
  • Turn right on Old Island Highway, go 2 blocks to Park entrance.

From Anacortes, WA (arriving at Sidney) 

  • Turn left on Lochside Drive, go 2 KM to Hwy. # 17
  • Turn left (south) on Hwy. # 17 for 20 KM.
  • Take the McKenzie Road West exit to the Trans Canada Highway.
  • Turn right on TCH going North for 2 KM then take exit # 8 Helmcken Road.
  • Turn left onto Helmcken Road, go 1 KM to Old Island Highway.
  • Turn right on Old Island Highway, go 2 blocks to Park entrance.

From Port Angeles Ferry (arriving Downtown Victoria) 

  • Turn left out of ferry terminal onto Belleville Street.
  • Go two blocks to Douglas Street and turn left.
  • Go up Douglas Street for 10 KM (eventually becomes the Trans Canada Highway.)
  • Take exit # 8 Helmcken Road.
  • Turn left onto Helmcken Road, go 1 KM to Old Island Highway.
  • Turn right on Old Island Highway, go 2 blocks to Park entrance.

From Nanaimo (via Trans Canada Hwy.)

  • Coming south on the TCH, take exit # 8 Helmcken Road.
  • Turn right onto Helmcken Road, go 1 KM to Old Island Highway.
  • Turn right on Old Island Highway, go 2 blocks to Park entrance.
